Overview

Only 20% percent of people do workout daily or at least 5 times a week.There are 70% of people who are lacking exercise in USA.Because of this people are facing anxiety problems and several diseases.So, we conducted research to know major reasons and further worked on the solution.

Why funterest ?

    The app aims to increase the percentage of people physical activities that has been decreased due to the virtual social networking.

    As people are suffereing from several diseases due to inactivity funtrest could potentially change ones lifestyle from sedentary to active.

    The app features for group activity aim to be accessible regardless of fitness level and provide people with the knowledge and confidence to be able to exercise in a group.

Quantitative Analysis

To start the project, we wanted to understand more about why funterest is important to users and what it can offer. Through research process, we discovered:

Interview Analysis

We conducuted interviews and surveys to understand and analyse the user needs,problems and reasons.We would like to know about their phyiscal activity routine and reasons if they are not doing any physical activity.We want to know their experience if they used any app before and their opinion on the meet up or fitness apps.

Based on this why, we came up with a design mood board reffering some words like energetic, socially engaging, calm, and healthy.

Logo

fun + interest

There is a specific logo for small sizes and should be used when the logo is rendered at a size between 50px wide and 90 px wide

The funterest logo is composed of a happy face and a logotype set in Open Sans SemiBold. The happy face symbol is composed of simple geometric shapes and a primary color. The symbol can be extracted and used as graphic elements. The horizontal logo is the primary logo and should be used in most instances. Avoid using at small sizes, as it can become illegible.


One-color use

The one-color logo should be used only on photographs and color backgrounds whitin the funtrest color palette.

The one-color logo should be only on black and white colorways.

If using a darkblue background, we strongly prefer to use the full-color logo with white typeface. However, if design limitations conflict with this, then the logo should apeear in white on dark blue.

What I learnt

Taking interviews from a broad range of individuals and surveying a larger  number of people allowed us to look at their insights at various stages of the project and understand users' pain points and needs. This project taught me how to create and edit videos for user scenarios. I learned how to promote our project by making a promotional video for it. I learned how to add interactions to the prototype so that it appears to be a real working app.

Next steps

I worked on watch design in other project but our target was to do that in the time frame of 5 weeks of app design.
